  EOC Joins the World SME Expo 2009

To help small and medium size enterprises (SMEs) understand the benefits of promoting equal opportunities in the workplace, the EOC will participate in the World SME Expo organized by the HK Trade Development Council from 3 to 5 December 2009. Apart from distributing EO publications and practical guidelines at Booth No. 1EE08, a talk on Hong Kong’s anti-discrimination legislation will be held at 12:45pm on 4 December 2009.   Women on Boards: Hang Seng Index 2009

Women make up nearly half of the local workforce and are important consumers of goods and services, but only 8.9% of all board positions on leading local companies, as listed on the Hang Seng Index, are held by women. A latest report published by Community Business, a non-profit organization analyses the issue with a view to highlight the importance of gender diversity.
