  The Race Discrimination Ordinance and its Code of Practice on Employment Are Now in Full Effect  
 
The Race Discrimination Ordinance (RDO) and its Code of Practice on Employment have come into operation from 10 July 2009. The RDO protects people against discrimination, harassment and vilification on the ground of their race. Race in relation to a person means the race, colour, descent, national or ethnic origin of the person. Under the RDO, it is unlawful to discriminate, harass or vilify a person on the ground of his/her race.

  Code of Practice on Employment  
 
The Code of Practice on Employment, issued by the EOC, gives practical guidance on preventing unlawful acts under the RDO and on promoting racial equality and harmony in the workplace. The Code is now available at the EOC website.
