Ms. Nancy SIT   Ms. Nancy SIT
Renowned Actress

Ms Nancy SIT, a renowned Hong Kong actress, is famous for her cheerful and positive image. The beginning of Ms SIT’s acting career can be dated as early as when she was eight, starring in notable films. She stopped acting after her marriage in 1983. Upon turning a single parent raising three children in 1995, Ms SIT made a major come back by playing the legendary Leung Yun Ho (affectionately known by every Hongkonger as the bubbly Auntie Ho) in the popular television sitcom, “Kindred Spirit” (1995). She continued to score hits in various drama series such as “Return of the Cuckoo” (2000), “Virtues of Harmony” (2001), and “Silver Chamber of Sorrows” (2008), which have become television classics. The theme song of “Virtues of Harmony” sung by her is also a popular hit.

Besides being a popular television icon, Ms SIT focuses her energies on philanthropic interests and community services. In 2002, she made use of her signature brand “Mama Nancy” to create and publish a series of electronic books and hosted a complementary children television programme promoting better parent-child relation. Ms SIT was invited to become ambassadors for causes ranging from equal opportunities, to mental health, environment protection, road safety, and crime prevention. She is the first actress in Hong Kong to receive the Medal of Honour presented by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government.

Together with Ms Jessie Yu Sau Chu, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Single Parents Association, Ms Sit will talk about how she has struggled, juggled, and succeeded in assuming the dual-role of a career woman and a doting mother.
