Say “No” to Sexual Harassment
Introduction
Sexual harassment is not a joke. Whether intended or unintended, sexual harassment can have serious negative impact on an individual, affecting the person’s physical and emotional well-being, her/his interpersonal relationships, and educational or career development. It can also affect an organisation adversely. Apart from low staff morale and decreased productivity, a company may face lawsuits as a result of sexual harassment acts by its employees.
Everyone – whether a student or an employee – is protected from unlawful sexual harassment acts under the Sex Discrimination Ordinance (SDO). This webpage provides information and resources for all members of the Hong Kong community on sexual harassment, to help them gain better understanding of such unlawful behaviour and the legal protection available, and encourage them to take necessary precautionary measures.
The Equal Opportunities Commission is committed to working with all sectors of the community to create a safe and harassment-free environment, in which all individuals enjoy equality of opportunities, dignity and rights. Let’s work together and put an end to sexual harassment.
