Since coming on board on 11 April, EOC Chairperson Ms Linda LAM Mei-sau has been communicating with internal and external stakeholders. She also shared her vision and work objectives with community members through radio programmes.

EOC’s Racial D&I Sports Day promotes multiculturalism through the power of sports

On 21 April 2024, the EOC organised the Racial Diversity & Inclusion Sports Day 2024 to promote racial inclusion and cultural diversity, as well as to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the implementation of the Race Discrimination Ordinance. The event was held on the campus of the Hang Seng University of Hong Kong, which is also the partner of the event. The opening ceremony was performed by Mr CHEUK Wing-hing, GBS, JP, Deputy Chief Secretary for Administration of the HKSAR Government, Ms Linda LAM Mei-sau, SBS, EOC Chairperson, and EOC Members.

EMerging Talent Internship Programme 2024 opens for application

Ethnic minority youths in Hong Kong often encounter challenges when seeking employment, owing to language barriers, cultural differences and biases of some employers. The Zubin Foundation’s EMerging Talent Internship Programme 2024 aims to address these challenges by connecting non-ethnic Chinese tertiary students with part-time and full-time internship opportunities. The programme is now accepting applications, and the EOC is proud to support this initiative.

The 2024 Community Business Awards aim to recognise and celebrate the achievements of organisations and individuals in Asia who are leading the way in championing DEI and wellbeing. The nomination period will close on 3 May 2024. The EOC is proud to support this initiative.

HKCSS holds S+ Summit cum Expo 2024 to promote sustainable development

Rapid social, economic, and environmental changes present both challenges and opportunities for Hong Kong. In order to encourage the adoption of innovative thinking and solutions to build a sustainable and liveable city, the Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS) will host the S+ Summit cum Expo at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 2 to 3 May 2024.
