When Dean came out to his family, his grandma said, “Nothing matters more than your own happiness in life”. Knowing that people with dystonia like him may not live a long life, he wants to seize the moment and live his life to the fullest. He is now an active volunteer, working with older gay men and people living with neuromuscular diseases. He also joins talks to tell others about his story, hoping to increase the visibility of LGBT people with disabilities.
