I reached out to Shafeen wishing to find out how ethnic minorities feel about Hong Kong after studying or living abroad. He studied for some time in Singapore before pursuing an undergraduate degree in the US. Although Hong Kong may be perceived by some as a city of opportunities, he found that there are much better career prospects overseas than in Hong Kong. When abroad, he was able to forward his work endeavors with greater ease as he had more chances to grow and explore. Although he has a lot of endearment towards Hong Kong, he foresees his professional pathway to take place outside the city.
