Saloni’s and my stories share some similarities: we both came to Hong Kong as secondary students, we were both in the same class, and we both initially did not know the language and the culture. She is very talented in chess and it is no surprise that she got recognised for it. She represented the city in international competitions. To her, Hong Kong has become her home, a part of her identity, and she represents Hong Kong in her every achievement.
