Navjot started playing field hockey at a very young age of 8 years old and has fallen in love with the sport ever since. He feels that while playing with locals on the pitch is fun, it can get a bit hard to communicate at times due to the language barrier.
He went to a local high school growing up, and he found it hard to fit in as he did not speak Cantonese. Focusing in class was also a struggle, as most subjects were taught in Chinese. With his hard work and the help of his teachers and classmates, he was eventually able to communicate in Cantonese after learning it for two years, making it easier to break out of his shell, and make friends at school.
