Born and raised in Hong Kong, Guramrita had a fruitful experience in school, where she was able to make friends with people from all kinds of backgrounds. She has heard stories from others about discrimination at school, but she believes that she is lucky to say her teachers and classmates treated her very well.
“Though we weren’t pressurised to study Cantonese and speak it fluently, I find that to be my weakness now,” she said. “Yet, even with my basic Chinese, I enjoy living here and am now accustomed to this fast-paced city that I call my home!”
