Macx was born in Hong Kong and raised overseas. He has grown a strong affinity for the city since he came back. He has tried his best to soak up most of the local elements, from the language and the cuisine to the way of living. However, even with years of living in Hong Kong, he still hesitates to call himself a local. As he transitions from university to the workforce, he begins to question whether there is a secure future for him in Hong Kong.
His collection here, entitled Superposition, is the fruit of that enquiry. Echoing the idea of a matter being able to exist in multiple states, it expresses his feelings of both belonging and not belonging in the city, a theme that perhaps runs throughout the stories of the eight people featured in his portraits.
