I am glad to announce the launch of our Equal Opportunity Youth Ambassador Scheme which is the first ambassador scheme organised by the Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC) targeting tertiary students. We hope that this Scheme will rally young staunch supporters for equal opportunities and heighten their sense of connection with the EOC.

To demonstrate the support from different sectors of the society to this Scheme, we have invited an array of community leaders to be the endorsers of the Scheme. They are all passionate about equal opportunities and eager to devote themselves to youth engagement activities. We thank them immensely for their support and wish to join hands together to nurture a team of young ambassadors and foster spirits of inclusion and diversity among them.

For years, with staunch support from various stakeholders of the rehabilitation fraternity, the message of “A Society for All” has been promoted in different sectors of the society. The United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD) has entered into force for the People's Republic of China, including the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, since 31 August 2008. We will continue to promote the spirit and values “Make the Right Real” of the UNCRPD and build a society of equal opportunities for people with disabilities.

I am delighted to be invited to participate in the Equal Opportunity Ambassador Scheme. I believe that the Scheme will deepen young people’s understanding of the Equal Opportunities Commission’s work and nurture them to help advance equality of opportunity which will make Hong Kong a more harmonious and inclusive city.

I am excited to learn that the Equal Opportunities Commission is going to launch a new youth ambassador scheme targeting students from tertiary institutions. Youth, including Hong Kong’s ethnic minority youth, are the pillars of our society. Equipping them with knowledge of equality, diversity and inclusion, and providing them with opportunities to learn about equal opportunities through experiential learning are of vital importance. This definitely helps shape their values and beliefs towards equal opportunities. I strongly recommend young people to join this meaningful scheme and be an ambassador to promote the awareness of equality and inclusion.

I am delighted to learn that the Equal Opportunities Commission has launched the Equal Opportunity Youth Ambassador Scheme. I believe that the youths who will be joining the Scheme can understand the importance of equal opportunities and the needs of others, and learn to treat people with empathy after interacting with persons with disabilities and visiting the companies they are working at. I hope these young people can create an equal, caring and altruistic society together.

The Equal Opportunity Youth Ambassador Scheme, which is launched by the Equal Opportunities Commission, helps cultivate the spirit of diversity and inclusion among the young generation. The Agency for Volunteer Service believes that everyone is equal and young people can develop their potentials, contribute to the society and uphold the values of diversity and inclusion through the engagement of voluntary work. We encourage students from tertiary institutions to join the Scheme. Through a series of experiential learning activities, students can deepen their understanding on equal opportunity and participate in its promotion in the community.

Our young friends, have you ever been unfairly treated? No matter what, you definitely have the ability and back-up to eliminate incidents of unfair treatment in the society and build a just and equal environment for marginalised groups.

In the near future, the Equal Opportunities Commission will offer you lots of eye-opening experiences. With these experiences, you can better equip yourself and put equal opportunity into practice. I sincerely recommend you all to join the Equal Opportunity Youth Ambassador Scheme. Let’s join hands together to create an equal society! Go for it!
