About Accessible for All @
Hong Kong Symposium

In just over two decades, one in every three persons in Hong Kong will be 65 or above. As the city’s population composition undergoes significant shifts, enhancing accessibility in everyday life holds the key to ensuring that Hong Kong remains a vibrant and inclusive urban environment for all. Such efforts need to address and remove barriers in both the physical and digital environments if we are to transform Hong Kong into a truly world-class smart city with a strong economy and high quality of living.

Organised by the Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC), the Accessible for All @ Hong Kong Symposium is a one-of-a-kind event that provides a unique platform to examine the issue of accessibility from a holistic perspective. Bringing together policymakers, pioneering researchers, and industry thought leaders from Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area, the event aims to spearhead the conversation on improving the wellbeing and social participation of individuals of all abilities and ages through universal design and smart technology. Through in-depth, thematic panel discussions, the Symposium will foster dialogue on solutions to remove physical and digital barriers, share the latest innovations in accessible technology, and promote the development of an inclusive smart city.

The Commission also aims to eliminate sexual harassment, harassment on the ground of breastfeeding, as well as harassment and vilification on the grounds of disability and race.
