Gursewak started following a vegan diet about a year ago. He was a vegetarian prior to that. “I decided to change to veganism because I couldn’t live with the fact that I was paying for animals to be exploited, especially when I call myself an animal lover,” he said.
He agrees that there are plenty of choices for vegetarians in Hong Kong. Due to the growing demand for vegetarian food, restaurants have started adding plant-based options to their menus. There are lots of vegan restaurants and Chinese vegetarian restaurants that cater to the needs of vegetarians as well. He loves that there are different food choices that are available throughout the city.
