- Orientation gathering
Through games and interaction, the Youth Ambassadors will get to know each other. They can also learn about the work of the EOC and the anti-discrimination ordinances.
- Visit to Mental Health Experience Museum
By visiting Mind Space, Hong Kong’s first Mental Health Experience Museum, the Youth Ambassadors will not only gain insights into the development of psychiatric services in Hong Kong, but also experience the everyday challenges faced by people with mental health needs. This immersive experience will deepen their understanding and raise their awareness of mental health issues.
- Sporting activity with athletes with disabilities
The Youth Ambassadors will experience running with a blind-fold and learn how to be a guide runner for runners with visual and hearing impairments during a training session.
- Training on anti-sexual harassment
The Youth Ambassadors will attend a workshop on anti-sexual harassment hosted by the EOC’s Anti-Sexual Harassment Unit. Apart from enriching their knowledge of sexual harassment, they can also learn to be active bystanders and help prevent sexual harassment incidents or assist the victims.
Following the workshop, the Youth Ambassadors will be required to complete an online course on the prevention of sexual harassment on campus and launch a promotional project to spread anti-sexual harassment messages on campus.
- Multicultural community tour
The Youth Ambassadors will experience the cultures of local and ethnic minority communities through visits to religious establishments and famous landmarks, as well as by sampling traditional foods.
- Company visit
Through the visit, the Youth Ambassadors will learn about the advantages of implementing diverse, equal, and inclusive policies in the workplace, as well as the benefits of adopting universal design.
- Barrier-free community exploration activity
The Youth Ambassadors will take on the roles of wheelchair users and their carers to gain firsthand insights into the everyday challenges they face in the neighbourhood, and to better appreciate the importance of a barrier-free environment. During the activity, they will also learn about various assistive tools designed to support people with disabilities.
- Recognition Ceremony
At the ceremony, the Youth Ambassadors will be presented with certificates to signify their successful completion. Those who organise outstanding projects on promoting anti-sexual harassment will be invited to share their outcomes at the event.
Requirements and Recognition
- Attain at least a 75% attendance rate (attend at least 6 out of 8 activities of the Scheme);
- Complete and submit the certificate of the online course on preventing sexual harassment on campus; and
- Carry out the anti-sexual harassment promotional project and submit a project report.
- A certificate issued by the EOC;
- A reference letter signed by EOC Chairperson; and
- Online credential on the Youth Ambassadors’ LinkedIn.
