EOC supports HKEX webinar “Corporate Governance in Focus”

Companies in recent years have increasingly recognised the importance of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) to their business. On 21 July 2022 (Thursday), 2:30pm-4:15pm, HKEX will host its “ESG Academy webinar: Corporate Governance in Focus” for a discussion about its updated Corporate Governance Code and why DEI matters for effective corporate governance.

Among the guest speakers is Dr Ferrick CHU, Executive Director (Operations) of the EOC, who will share insights into how to build a workplace that puts equal opportunity at the heart of its culture. Other speakers include Mr Joe LEE, Director of Corruption Prevention, Independent Commission Against Corruption; and Mr Jon WITTS, Head of Enforcement, Listing, HKEX.

A panel will also be held under the theme, “What Is the Impact of Culture and Diversity on Governance Standards?” The panellists are: Ms Gill MELLER, Legal and Governance Director, MTR Corporation Limited; Ms May TAN, Former Chief Executive Officer, Standard Chartered Bank Hong Kong; Independent Non-executive Director, Manulife and CLP Holding; and Dr Christopher TO, Chairman, The Hong Kong Institute of Directors. The discussion will be moderated by Ms Katherine NG, Head of Policy and Secretariat Services, Listing, HKEX.
