Promote universal design with support from EOC’s Community Participation Funding Programme
The EOC is now inviting project proposals carrying the theme “Universal Design” under its Community Participation Funding Programme on Equal Opportunities. Each approved project will receive a maximum funding of HK$150,000, and should commence within the fiscal year 2022-23.
The Funding Programme was launched by the EOC in 1997 to raise awareness of Hong Kong’s anti-discrimination laws and promote messages of diversity and inclusion through projects organised by NGOs, schools and community groups alike.
In recent years, the EOC has placed an increasing emphasis on advocating Universal Design through its work. The EOC firmly believes that Universal Design – the idea of designing products, services and environments to be usable by all people, to the greatest extent possible, without the need for retrofitting or adaptation – can play a key part in the creation of an inclusive society not only for persons with disabilities, but also for carers, pregnant women, older adults and many other communities.
The deadline for applications is 12 August 2022 (Friday). For enquiries, please contact the EOC Office at 2511 8211.
