To enable different communities to better understand the amendments to Hong Kong’s anti-discrimination laws that came into force in 2020 and 2021, the EOC recently released an animated explainer video in eight languages, including Bahasa Indonesia, Hindi, Nepali, Punjabi, Tagalog, Thai, Urdu and Vietnamese. 

From prohibiting sexual, disability and racial harassment at common workplaces to expanding protections against racial discrimination to cover discrimination by imputation and association, these amendments have vastly strengthened the protections under the four anti-discrimination ordinances in Hong Kong.

The EOC believes that people from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds should be given an equal opportunity to access information that can impact their everyday lives.
