Social Welfare Department’s latest batch of Arts Development Fund for Persons with Disabilities opens for applications
The fifth batch of the Arts Development Fund for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) under the Social Welfare Department (SWD) is open for applications from eligible organisations until 18 August 2023 (Friday). Non-profit organisations, upon fulfilling certain requirements and having at least two years of experience in organising structured arts activities or training programmes for persons with disabilities may submit applications.
The Arts Development Fund aims to promote the participation of PWDs in recreational, sports and cultural arts activities, giving them opportunities to develop their potential and enhance their quality of life.
Two tiers of arts projects are supported by the Fund. Tier One projects are for the provision of elementary and continuing arts programmes that enhance the arts knowledge of PWDs, foster their interest in arts and unleash their potential, while Tier Two projects are large-scale, impactful and sustainable projects that assist individual PWDs with great artistic potential in pursuing their career in performing, visual or creative arts and enable them to strive for excellence.
