EOC releases new training videos related to special educational needs

The EOC has recently released a series of five animated videos designed to educate the public, particularly tertiary students, about special educational needs (SEN). These engaging videos use simple cartoons to delve into the concept of equal opportunities, introduce the Disability Discrimination Ordinance, explain the definition of reasonable accommodation, discuss the question of whether one should disclose a disability, and provide tips on disability etiquette.

These videos, developed by the EOC, are offered by Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) and The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) as part of their SEN online training modules, which aim to equip university members and the general public with the knowledge and skills to promote a more inclusive learning environment for students with SEN.

Within a span of just two months, near 800 staff members and students from both HKBU and HKUST have enrolled on this course. Individuals from the general public can also enrol on the course and obtain an electronic certificate upon completion of an online quiz.
