EOC launches Equal Opportunity Youth Ambassador Scheme 2023/24

EOC launches Equal Opportunity Youth Ambassador Scheme 2023/24

The EOC is recruiting students from local tertiary education institutions to join the Equal Opportunity Youth Ambassador Scheme 2023/24. Through a range of experiential learning activities, the Youth Ambassadors can enhance their knowledge and experience on diversity, equality and inclusion (DEI) so that they can share what they have learnt with their peers on campus.

The activities include exercising with athletes with disabilities, seeing how strategies on diversity and inclusion are implemented in the workplace, joining a multicultural tour, attending training on anti-sexual harassment and exploring barrier-free facilities.

EOC Chairperson Mr Ricky CHU Man-kin said, “The EOC ran the Scheme for the first time in the last academic year. We are gratified and encouraged by the positive results, as many Youth Ambassadors said the Scheme enriched their experience and provided opportunities to develop a deeper understanding and appreciation for DEI values outside the classroom. Building on this success, the EOC has launched the Scheme again with an increase in the number of participants, which will enable more tertiary students to become Youth Ambassadors.”

Interested students can submit an online application with a short article or a short video to express their views on equal opportunities in either Chinese or English. The application deadline is 16 November 2023. Upon the completion of the Scheme, the Youth Ambassadors will receive a reference letter signed by the EOC Chairperson, a certificate and online credential on their LinkedIn.
