EOC staff members recognised in The Ombudsman’s Awards 2023

We are delighted to announce that two EOC staff members, Ms Candy CHU, Chief Equal Opportunities Officer (Complaint Services) and Ms Susana SOO, Senior Equal Opportunities Officer (Anti-Sexual Harassment Unit), have been honoured with Individual Awards in The Ombudsman’s Awards 2023. The recognition is a testament to their exceptional professionalism, dedicated service, and outstanding achievements. Witnessed by EOC Chairperson Mr Ricky CHU Man-kin and members of the management team, Ms Chu and Ms Soo received their awards during the Presentation Ceremony held on 15 November 2023.

The Ombudsman’s Awards are presented to acknowledge professionalism in handling complaints with the aim to foster a positive complaint culture in the public sector. This year, a total of 62 public officers were recognised for their exemplary professional service.

Guided by the principles of fairness and impartiality and a victim-centric approach in handling complaints, the EOC is dedicated to providing redress to victims of discrimination in an efficient and professional manner. We will continue to look for ways of further elevating the quality of our service.
