Ms Linda LAM Mei-sau assumed office as the new Chairperson of the EOC on 11 April 2024.

Speaking to the press on her vision for her term at the EOC, Ms Lam said, “I am honoured to have been appointed by the Chief Executive as the Chairperson of the EOC. I will make use of the power vested in law, my professional expertise and experiences to lead the Commission to continue to serve members of the public, to facilitate redress for discrimination and to safeguard the rights against discrimination.”

Prior to her appointment at the EOC, Ms Lam served in the Department of Justice for a total of 29 years, where she held various posts in different legal divisions. In 2021, she was appointed Law Officer and held the position of Law Officer (International Law) until 2022.

In her first op-ed article published in HK01, Ms Lam highlighted her aspirations for her new role.

“I look forward to working with the members, management team and staff of the EOC, the Government and all stakeholders to establish a diverse and inclusive community and to contribute to the HKSAR and the nation,” she said.
