EOC launches Equal Opportunity Youth Ambassador Scheme 2024/25
The EOC has launched the Equal Opportunity Youth Ambassador Scheme 2024/25. Through the Scheme, 50 full-time tertiary students will have opportunities to learn more about diversity, equality, and inclusion (DEI) through a wide range of experiential activities. The activities include attending anti-sexual harassment training and organising anti-sexual harassment activities on campus, exercising with athletes with disabilities, visiting multicultural communities, visiting a company that embraces DEI and exploring barrier-free environments.
In an op-ed article on the online media outlet HK01, EOC Chairperson Ms Linda LAM Mei-sau wrote, “The highlight of the Scheme is that it allows the Youth Ambassadors to engage with different communities and cultures through experiential learning activities. These activities will enable them to put the values of DEI into practice. As we heard from the tertiary students who participated in the previous two rounds, they all found the Scheme very meaningful. Not only did the experience enrich their understanding of equal opportunities, but it also broadened their horizons.”
The Scheme is open to full-time students from local tertiary institutions. Interested students can submit an application form along with a short article or video sharing their views on equal opportunities via the Scheme’s website by 17 November 2024.
