HKBU and HKUST launch new SEN online training module
Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) and The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) have launched a new online training module designed to help university members and the general public foster a more inclusive learning environment for students with special educational needs (SEN).
Module 2: Understanding SEN and Academic Adjustments is now available for enrolment. It focuses on enhancing awareness of various types of SEN and the appropriate academic adjustments. Through expert guidance and insights, participants can learn practical strategies to support learners with diverse needs. After completing the training videos and an online quiz, participants will receive an electronic certificate of completion.
The above follows the launch of Module 1: Integrated Education & Related Ordinances in Hong Kong last year. The module includes five animated videos developed by the EOC, which explore the concept of equal opportunities, introduce the Disability Discrimination Ordinance, explain the definition of reasonable accommodation, address the issue of disclosing a disability, and provide tips on disability etiquette. Both modules are available to the public free.
