EOC Chairperson Ms Linda LAM Mei-sau said, “This year marks the fifth anniversary of the promulgation and implementation of the Hong Kong National Security Law. The EOC is delighted to have Mr Cheuk as the speaker of the briefing session. His insights have given us a more thorough understanding of the provisions and significance of the Hong Kong National Security Law and the Safeguarding National Security Ordinance. As a statutory body, the EOC remains steadfast in its commitment to enforcing the anti-discrimination ordinances in accordance with the law. We understand that as public servants, we must collectively shoulder the responsibility to safeguard national security. This briefing session served to enhance staff members’ understanding of issues related to safeguarding national security, enabling us to effectively prevent and suppress acts and activities that endanger national security in our daily work, and fulfil our responsibilities.”
Meanwhile, the EOC also arranged for all staff members to visit the National Security Exhibition Gallery between July and August 2025 to coincide with the launch of the 5th Anniversary of the Promulgation and Implementation of the Hong Kong National Security Law Thematic Exhibition. Through guided tours by professional docents, the visits allowed staff members to learn about Hong Kong’s restoration of stability and prosperity following the implementation of the Hong Kong National Security Law, further strengthening their understanding and commitment to safeguarding national security.
