EOC makes submission to the Government on 2025 Policy Address

The EOC has made two submissions to the Government in response to the public consultation on the 2025 Policy Address, providing a range of recommendations to foster a more diverse and inclusive city.

In one of the submissions, the EOC proposed 21 policy recommendations under nine themes for the Government’s consideration. The nine themes include: addressing minority needs against the backdrop of technological development; awareness for mental health needs of young people; accessible arts, sports and leisure; accessibility and universal design; Support for carers; enhancing awareness of equal opportunities on school campuses; strategies for advancing gender equality and preventing sexual harassment; positive sexuality education to nurture our future generation; and fostering a racially friendly community for residents from diverse races and visitors to Hong Kong.

In another submission titled ‘Promotion of Chinese Language Education and Career Planning for Non-Chinese Speaking Students’, the EOC called on the Government to address the challenges faced by non-Chinese speaking students in education, with a particular focus on Chinese language learning and career planning.
