EOC calls on public to vote in the 2025 Legislative Council General Election
The EOC has long been committed to building a diverse, equal and inclusive society, ensuring that everyone enjoy equal opportunities to fully participate in society, including engaging in politics and exercising their right to vote. On 7 November 2025, the EOC released a video featuring Chairperson Ms Linda LAM Mei-sau and EOC staff members to call on members of the public to vote in the 2025 Legislative Council General Election, which will be held on 7 December 2025.
In the video, Ms Lam said, “The EOC fully supports the upcoming election. Through the election, we can play a part in shaping the future of Hong Kong, improve livelihood and promote social development. I call on members of the public to cast their votes on 7 December, while also encouraging their family members, colleagues and friends to vote together to build a more caring and inclusive Hong Kong.”
Meanwhile, Ms Lam published an article in HK01 highlighting the Electoral Affairs Commission and Government’s efforts to provide various accommodations for people with diverse needs, including two designated polling stations for ethnic minorities in Wan Chai and Tsim Sha Tsui near the Khalsa Diwan Sikh Temple and the Kowloon Mosque and Islamic Centre. She also noted a pilot scheme to set up outreach polling stations in selected buildings where 11 residential care homes for the elderly and four residential care homes for people with disabilities are located, as well as the arrangement of a special queue at polling stations for people with diverse needs, such as persons aged 70 or above, pregnant women, and persons who are unable to queue for a long time due to physical conditions.
“Every single vote will have the power to shape the future of Hong Kong,” Ms Lam wrote.
