EOC recognises 96 organisations in inaugural Racial Diversity & Inclusion Employers Award Scheme
On 21 November 2025, the EOC held the award presentation ceremony for the 2025 Racial Diversity & Inclusion Employers Award Scheme at the HKEX Connect Hall. The event recognised organisations dedicated to promoting racial equality, diversity and inclusion in the workplace through concrete policies and practices. A total of 96 organisations received awards in the inaugural Scheme. 150 guests attended the event, including EOC Members, representatives from the awarded organisations and NGO partners. Mr Chris SUN Yuk-han, Secretary for Labour and Welfare of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, officiated the event as the Guest of Honour.
In her opening speech, EOC Chairperson Ms Linda LAM Mei-sau said, “We are genuinely inspired by the numerous organisations striving towards our shared objective of fostering a racially diverse and inclusive workplace. We commend the efforts of 96 organisations for their achievements and express our gratitude for their support.”
The Scheme consists of three award categories – Racial Equity in Hiring Award, Inclusive Workplace Award, and Community Engagement Award – and attracted 84 applications from 96 organisations. Following a detailed assessment, 24 applications received a Gold Award in at least one category, 30 received a Silver Award in at least one category, 26 received a Bronze Award in at least one category and 4 earned the Racially Friendly Award. Notably, 10 organisations received Gold Awards in all three categories.
In addition to presenting awards to organisations, the event also featured a discussion between Ms Shalini MAHTANI, Founder of The Zubin Foundation, and Ms Elizabeth THOMSON, Chairwoman of The Amber Foundation, on the impact of providing internship opportunities to young people from ethnically diverse communities.
