EOC releases Annual Report 2024-25
On 21 January 2026, the EOC’s Annual Report 2024-25 was tabled at the Legislative Council and published on the EOC’s website. Entitled ‘Advancing Towards an Equal and Accessible Future’, the report details the EOC’s key achievements from 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2025 in promoting equality and combating discrimination in Hong Kong.
In the Chairperson’s Message, EOC Chairperson Ms Linda LAM Mei-sau wrote, “At the EOC, we are deeply aware that the work we do is not just for the here and now. Instead, what we prioritise in the present will have a meaningful impact on Hong Kong’s equality landscape in the future. With a steadfast commitment to ensuring that everyone, regardless of their gender, disability, family status or race, can fully participate in society, we continued to step up our efforts in a wide range of areas in 2024-25 to create a more equal and inclusive city.”
During the period in review, the EOC handled 10 244 enquires and 1 398 complaints, with a conciliation rate of 88%. As part of its efforts to promote universal design and accessibility, the EOC held an award presentation ceremony for the inaugural Universal Design Award Scheme, presenting 281 awards to businesses and organisations for their contributions to creating accessible environments. Marking the 15th Anniversary of the implementation of the Race Discrimination Ordinance, the EOC also organised various events to promote the values of multiculturalism and racial inclusion. Additionally, the report highlighted research, advocacy and education efforts aimed at preventing discrimination and instiling the values of equal opportunities in the younger generation.
