The Chairperson of the Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC), Ms Linda LAM Mei-sau, led a group of staff members, including the management team, to visit the National Security Exhibition Gallery today (30 August 2024). Guided by the professional docents, the EOC team explored the six zones and valuable exhibits in the exhibition gallery, gaining in-depth understanding of the importance of safeguarding national security.

Ms Linda Lam Mei-sau said, “We are really grateful to Mr Sonny AU Chi-kwong, the Secretary General of the Committee for Safeguarding National Security of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Mr CHEUNG Kin-kwong, Person-in-charge of the National Security Exhibition Gallery and his team for arranging the group tour for the EOC, which has facilitated our staff members to gain clear, systematic and thorough understanding of the Country’s history, ‘A Holistic Approach to National Security’, the ‘One Country, Two Systems’ and the laws for safeguarding national security in Hong Kong. Through the exhibition, we have gained a deeper understanding of the importance of national security to the social stability and economic prosperity of Hong Kong, as well as our responsibilities in safeguarding national security.  I encourage my colleagues at the EOC to bring their family and friends to visit the National Security Exhibition Gallery, mobilising those around us to play a part in safeguarding national security.”

Located at the Hong Kong Museum of History in Tsim Sha Tsui, the ‘National Security Exhibition Gallery’ was inaugurated in early August 2024. It is the first thematic gallery dedicated to systematic promotion of national security education, and the first physical national security education base in the Hong Kong SAR. Admission is free for the public and no reservation is required.
