The Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC) welcomes the Government’s announcement today (2 May 2025) on the appointment of five new members and the re-appointment of nine incumbent members to the EOC by the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. They will serve a two-year term with effect from 20 May 2025.

The newly appointed members are:

• Ms Aruna GURUNG
• Revd Canon the Honourable Peter Douglas KOON Ho-ming, BBS, JP
• Dr LUI Wai-cheung
• Mr WONG Yu-wing, Symon

The reappointed members are:

• Ms CHAN Lai-kwan, Queenie, MH
• Ms CHOI Yi-tak, MH
• Miss CHOW Lily
• Dr Theresa CUNANAN
• Mr FONG James Mathew
• Mr Vishal MELWANI
• Miss TO Shuk-yi, Shirley
• Ms TSANG Chi-man, Linda
• Dr WU Kit-ying, Kitty, JP

Ms Linda LAM Mei-sau, Chairperson of the EOC, said, “The EOC welcomes the newly appointed and re-appointed members. They come from diverse backgrounds with a wide spectrum of expertise, and have extensive experience in public service. I am confident that they, along with the two incumbent members (Mr Simon LAM Ken-chung and Dr Vincent WONG Wai-lun), will bring invaluable insights to the EOC and help build a pluralistic and inclusive society free of discrimination.”

In addition, the EOC expresses its gratitude to five outgoing Members, namely, the Hon Vincent CHENG Wing-shun, Dr Henry SHIE Wai-hung, Ms Anna THOMPSON, Dr Rizwan ULLAH and Mr Gary WONG Chi-him. 

“I am deeply appreciative of their tremendous efforts in advancing equal opportunities, and in supporting and guiding the EOC over the past years. Given their commitment to equal opportunities, I have no doubt that they will continue to offer steadfast support to the EOC,” Ms Lam said.
