The Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC) has today issued legal proceedings under the Disability Discrimination Ordinance, Cap. 487 in the District Court on behalf of a man who was dismissed by his employer because of his ill health and for taking too many sick leaves.


The EOC has granted legal assistance in this case because workers who are in poor health and who take sick leaves frequently are often discriminated against and it is necessary to bring public attention to the need to protect these workers.
