In response to the Chief Executive Mr. Donald TSANG's policy speech today (11 October 2006), Chairperson of the Equal Opportunities Commission, Mr. Raymond TANG said, "Family-friendly employment policies (FFEPs) is a main focus of our work, and we will continue to devote efforts to ensure the sustainability of FFEPs in the employment sector. We are therefore pleased with the government's commitment to actively work with the business community and NGOs to promote family-friendly measures."
 
"Our research shows that striking a better work/life balance offers a wide range of benefits to workers and employers alike. While flexi-time and compressed work week are most preferred by employees, employers who have adopted family-friendly policies are able to attract and retain high performing and experienced staff. It is in the best interests of employees, employers and our economy to meet the changing needs of our men and women, so that all skills can be fully utilized."
