Jevons Au and Dreamergo to conduct multimedia workshops for EOC’s youth programme “Generation i”

The application deadline for the multimedia workshops under the EOC’s latest youth engagement programme “Generation i” has been extended to 7 November 2018 (Wednesday).

On 17 November 2018 (Saturday), 2pm – 5pm, local illustrator and cartoonist Dreamergo will take participants through the basics of comic drawing and offer tips on how to add some personal touch to their work. Boasting over 25 years of experience in the industry, Dreamergo has contributed illustrations for numerous renowned writers, including NI Kuang and Haruki MURAKAMI.

Another workshop, focusing on short video production, will be held on 24 November 2018 (Saturday), 11am – 1pm and 2pm – 6pm. Filmmaker Jevons AU, who won Best Director at the 36th Hong Kong Film Awards for Trivisa and recently helmed Distinction, an affectionate portrait of a teacher preparing students with special needs for a musical performance, will serve as the instructor and demonstrate techniques used in different stages of filmmaking.

Both workshops will take place at The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups Jockey Club Media 21 in Aberdeen. They seek to enhance the creative capacity of participants and prepare them for joining the “Generation i” competition, which requires entrants to submit a comic strip or a short video themed around inclusion, diversity and equality. Contestants have the chance to win cash prices up to HK$8,000. All secondary school students in Hong Kong may apply.
