Join in the 2021 Mental Health Month campaign and support better mental health for all

On 10 October, organisations across the globe rolled out different kinds of events and activities in observance of the World Mental Health Day, an international day designated by the World Health Organization for global mental health education, awareness and policy advocacy.

In Hong Kong, the Mental Health Month campaign in October also features a series of publicity and education activities that aim to raise community awareness of mental health issues, encourage them to look after their mental health, and provide support to others. This year, the Organising Committee, which consists of Government departments, NGOs and public organisations including the EOC, has chosen the themes of Reconnect, Love, Company and Action (Reconnect•愛•伴•行) for the campaign. As well as encouraging the public to connect with, show love and accompany each other, the campaign also seeks to mobilise community members to take action on enhancing their mental wellbeing.

One of the activities is a competition that invites students and members of the public to design a programme of activities for enhancing physical and mental wellbeing. Entrants may follow the Five Ways to Well-being (by the New Economics Foundation) – connect, be active, notice, keep learning and give – in designing the programme, and submit photos or video of no more than two minutes to illustrate their works. Deadline for submission is 5 November 2021.
