Two EOC staff members have been named winners of The Ombudsman’s Awards 2021 for Officers of Public Organisations.
Mr John KEUNG, Acting Chief Equal Opportunities Officer (Services and Human Resources Development) was commended for his rigour and diligence in handling service complaints and following up on enhancement measures, while Mr Raymond HO, Senior Equal Opportunities Officer (Ethnic Minorities Unit) was lauded for his proactive attitude towards addressing concerns over discrimination against non-ethnic Chinese communities in Hong Kong.
Attending the award presentation ceremony on 4 November 2021 alongside the recognised staff, EOC Chairperson Mr Ricky CHU Man-kin said, “We are deeply honoured by the significant recognition represented by these awards. While change is becoming the only constant under the post-COVID ‘new normal’, the EOC remains committed to serving the public with professionalism and agility.”
The Ombudsman’s Awards Scheme was introduced in 1997 to promote good public administration. It was extended in 1999 to honour individual public officers.
