Be a puppeteer and spread messages of inclusion to children
Kids on the Block (KOB), an educational puppet troupe, is now recruiting volunteers to join its puppet shows and help promote the value of disability inclusion in schools.
Introduced to Hong Kong by the Society for the Relief of Disabled Children and the Hong Kong Society for Rehabilitation in 1995, KOB has been giving puppet shows to thousands of schools and kindergartens in Hong Kong, with the aim of deepening students’ understanding of diversities in society and the importance of respecting differences and caring for others.
The EOC has been collaborating with KOB on staging puppet shows in schools as part of its educational effort. Among the themes of the performances are autism, learning difficulties, gender discrimination, etc.
As puppeteers of KOB, volunteers will take part in performances at schools and community events. Training will be provided to successful applicants on the performing techniques. To enrol, please click the link below and submit the online application form on or before 15 June 2022. For enquiries, please contact KOB via telephone (2819 3611), WhatsApp (5303 7302) or email (info@hkkob.org).
