Court confirms EOC’s complaint-handling as fair and reasonable
EOC Chairperson Mr Ricky CHU Man-kin published an article in China Daily and Sing Tao Daily last month, welcoming the High Court’s recent decision to refuse an application for judicial review of the EOC’s handling of a disability discrimination complaint.
EOC celebrates World Breastfeeding Week with citywide advertising campaign
In celebration of World Breastfeeding Week (1-7 August) and as a refresher about the breastfeeding-related amendments to the Sex Discrimination Ordinance that took effect in June last year, the EOC rolled out a cross-platform awareness campaign this month, encompassing MTR ads, a roving promotional truck and social media content.
EOC releases multilingual animated explainer of updates to anti-discrimination laws
To enable different communities to better understand the amendments to Hong Kong’s anti-discrimination laws that came into force in 2020 and 2021, the EOC recently released an animated explainer video in eight languages, including Bahasa Indonesia, Hindi, Nepali, Punjabi, Tagalog, Thai, Urdu and Vietnamese.
Social Welfare Department invites applications for IT schemes for persons with disabilities
The Social Welfare Department (SWD)’s IT Scheme for People with Visual Impairment and Central Fund for Personal Computers are both open for application until 19 September 2022.
