EOC Chairperson takes score of Hong Kong’s racial equality and inclusion progress in 2022

As the Year of the Rabbit approached, EOC Chairperson Mr Ricky CHU Man-kin recounted the racial equality and inclusion journey of Hong Kong in 2022 and the mileage gained so far in two articles released in Ming Pao Daily and South China Morning Post on 20 and 22 January respectively.

EOC-funded study sheds light on challenges faced by carers of persons with advanced illnesses

On 16 January, the Caritas Institute of Higher Education released the findings of its study on ‘Family Caregivers of Persons with Advanced Illnesses’, which show that carers of persons with advanced illnesses not only experienced greater stress during the COVID-19 pandemic, but also encountered discrimination in the workplace.

Stories of the Fearless Dragon Running Team available in English now

Earlier this month, the Hong Kong Network for the Promotion of Inclusive Society published the English version of the book The Legend of the Fearless Dragon Running Team. Funded by the EOC’s Community Participation Funding Programme on Equal Opportunities, the publication presents a collection of life stories told by runners with visual challenges and guide runners with hearing challenges, who share their ups and downs as they overcome life’s adversities and build a sense of self-worth and confidence through endurance running.
