Resolve Foundation releases #StepUpNow videos

Resolve Foundation has launched the #StepUpNow video campaign to share practical tips on how people can become active bystanders to help tackle prejudice or harassment in daily lives.

Funded by the EOC, the videos featured creative drawings and simple storylines, and are aimed to introduce the concepts of 5Ds (Delegate, Delay, Document, Distract and Direct), which are the five simple steps that bystanders can take to intervene in case of witnessing prejudice, harassment and discrimination.

For example, when encountering racial discrimination or sexual harassment in the workplace, you can “delegate” and “document”, which means seeking assistance from third party and collecting evidence in a non-confrontational way with the consent of the persons being harassed.

The Foundation hopes that the videos, circulated in social media, would spread the message to youngsters that “everyone has the power to be an active bystander and create a more diverse and inclusive Hong Kong”.

Four videos are now on social media and one more will debut soon.
