On 14 May 2023, the EOC premiered its new short movie series, “Under the Same Sky”, on ViuTV CH.99. Produced by cross-media producer Mr Steven MA Chun-wai, the series showcases eight touching stories that depict various forms of prejudice and discrimination based on disability, race, breastfeeding, sexual harassment, pregnancy, family status, mental illness, and students with special educational needs (SEN). The film is produced in Cantonese with Chinese and English sub-titles.

Through the powerful and emotional storylines, the EOC aims to inspire empathy and reflection on discrimination issues, helping audiences better understand the obstacles faced by those who are suffering from discrimination.

The series will be re-run on ViuTV at 1:30pm on 28 May. The full version of the series is also available on the EOC’s website and YouTube channel. Including in this full version is an interview with EOC Chairperson Mr Ricky CHU Man-kin, Convenor of the EOC’s Community Participation and Publicity Committee Mr Gary WONG Chi-him and Deputy Convenor Ms Rabi YIM Chor-pik, who shared their thoughts and addressed the discrimination issues illustrated in the series and provided insights on how we can protect people from discrimination under the existing anti-discrimination ordinances.
