EOC holds briefing sessions for potential applicants of the 2023-24 Community Participation Funding Programme on Equal Opportunities

The EOC conducted an English and a Cantonese briefing session on 17 August and 22 August 2023 respectively to provide organisations with comprehensive information on how to apply for the 2023-24 Community Participation Funding Programme on Equal Opportunities (Funding Programme).

The Funding Programme is designed to offer financial support to eligible organisations for educational projects that engage various sectors of the community, raise awareness of Hong Kong’s anti-discrimination ordinances, and/or promote equal opportunity and inclusion of people of different gender, people with disabilities, people with family status, as well as people of different races. The two briefing sessions gave dozens of participants from different interested organisations a better understanding of the application process, application and funding requirements.

The Funding Programme is open for application until 19 September 20223. The programme consists of two categories: “General Projects” and “Thematic Projects”, with a maximum amount of funding set at HK$100,000 and HK$150,000 respectively for each project.

Projects covering the four anti-discrimination ordinances – Sex Discrimination Ordinance, Disability Discrimination Ordinance, Family Status Discrimination Ordinance and Race Discrimination Ordinance – are eligible to apply for funding under the “General Projects” category.

The “Thematic Projects” category is open to projects focused on promoting one of the four themes to the public: preventing sexual harassment in the workplace, promoting accessibility and universal design, creating family- and breastfeeding-friendly workplaces, and fostering racial inclusion.
