EOC launches “Harmony in the Universe” online educational module for primary school students
The EOC has launched the “Harmony in the Universe” online educational module, which aims to enhance primary school students’ understanding of the value of equal opportunities. Tailored for use by primary school teachers, educators, and parents, the modules feature animated short films that follow two astronauts and their friends as they explore themes of diversity and inclusion in their journey through space. Through discussion questions, games, and activities, the modules encourage students to develop empathy, respect differences, and care for others.
EOC Chairperson Ms Linda LAM Mei-sau said, “These educational modules are specifically designed for primary school students, in alignment with the ‘Values Education Curriculum Framework 2021’ developed by the Education Bureau. We hope that children can develop empathy and learn to care for and respect others through watching the animated videos and using the companion teaching materials of the educational modules, thereby preventing behaviours such as bullying, prejudice and discrimination.”
The first two modules, “The Restaurant” (Lower Primary Module 1) and “Recruitment” (Upper Primary Module 1), are now available on the “Harmony in the Universe” webpage. Stay tuned as the EOC continues to release more episodes and learning materials.
