EOC holds recognition ceremony to mark the completion of Equal Opportunity Youth Ambassador Scheme 2024/25
On 14 June 2025, the EOC held a recognition ceremony for the Equal Opportunity Youth Ambassador Scheme 2024/25 to celebrate the achievements of the Youth Ambassadors in completing the programme. This year, the scheme attracted nearly 200 applications, from which 50 students from 14 tertiary institutions were selected as Youth Ambassadors.
The ceremony was attended by EOC Chairperson Ms Linda LAM Mei-sau, EOC Members Ms Queenie CHAN Lai-kwan, Dr LUI Wai-cheung, and Mr Vincent WONG Wai-lun, alongside representatives from various tertiary institutions and supporting partners of the scheme.
In her opening remarks, Ms Linda LAM expressed gratitude for the support from EOC members, tertiary institutions, and various partners. She encouraged the Youth Ambassadors to continue to promote the values of diversity, equality, and inclusion on campus and in their daily life.
“The recognition ceremony today is not the final destination but a new starting point for you to advocate for equal opportunities. I hope that in the future, each of you, regardless of your roles, will stand firm in your beliefs to spread love and inclusion, eliminate discrimination and prejudice, and help create a more inclusive and welcoming Hong Kong,” she said.
During the ceremony, the Youth Ambassadors were presented with certificates. Seven Youth Ambassadors also received the “Most Active Participation Award”, which recognised their achievement in completing all the assignments and participating in all the activities.
Over the past six months, the Youth Ambassadors participated in a variety of experiential activities designed to deepen their understanding of diversity, equality, and inclusion. As part of the programme, the EOC organised online and offline training on sexual harassment prevention for the Youth Ambassadors. They also created campaigns or host events to spread the anti-sexual harassment message among their peers, including a movie screening, a promotional booth, and social media posts. During the ceremony, two groups presented their projects.
