2025 Mental Health Month holds opening ceremony
The 2025 Mental Health Month began with an opening ceremony on 11 October 2025. The Mental Health Month initiative is a territory-wide campaign that aims to raise community awareness about mental health issues through a variety of publicity and educational activities. The Organising Committee consists of Government departments, NGOs and public bodies, including the EOC. Under the theme of “Healthy Life‧Healthy Mind”, this year’s initiative encourages the public to develop five healthy habits, including healthy diet, quality sleep, regular exercise, social connection and stress management, to lead a better life.
In an article published in HK01, EOC Chairperson Ms Linda LAM Mei-sau emphasised that leading a healthy life and maintaining a healthy mind should include making positive changes in the workplace as well. In the article, she explained how the EOC promotes public awareness of mental health through law enforcements, research and educational publicity.
Ms Lam wrote, “Building a mental health friendly workplace will not only enhance employees’ work efficiency and productivity but also shapes a positive corporate image, attracting and retaining talent for sustainable development. I hope more employers and employees can work together to create a physically and mentally healthy, inclusive work environment, enabling all employees to have ‘Healthy Life’ and ‘Healthy Mind’ in both their personal and professional lives.”
