EOC Gives Legal Assistance in Disability Discrimination Case
11/04/2007
The Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC) has today (11 April 2007) issued legal proceedings under the Disability Discrimination Ordinance, Cap. 487 in the District Court, on behalf of a driver who alleged that his former employer had discriminated against him by dismissing him on the ground of his disabilities from renal transplantation and ventricular septal defect.
The EOC has granted legal assistance in this case because workers who have a disability are often discriminated against and it is necessary to bring public attention to the need to protect these workers from discrimination.
