EOC launches COMPASS, a user-centric portal of anti-sexual harassment resources
In October 2021, the EOC officially launched COMPASS, an up-to-date, user-centric portal of online resources regarding sexual harassment.
The wealth of information available on the platform includes law explainers, digests of court cases, research reports, training tools, guidelines for policy formulation, as well as printed and audiovisual materials addressing sexual harassment in various contexts.
In addition, the portal features a prominent “I Need Help” button which ensures that visitors can quickly locate information or decide on next steps according to their needs, whether it be making an enquiry, lodging a complaint, setting up an anti-sexual harassment policy, or booking a training session with the EOC.
The portal is the latest initiative by the EOC’s Anti-Sexual Harassment Unit (ASHU), established in November 2020 to elevate the Commission’s effort towards combatting sexual harassment in Hong Kong. Besides operating an enquiry hotline (2106 2222), the ASHU delivers tailored training to different sectors. For instance, the ASHU partnered with the Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS) to organise a seminar for the social service sector this June, which was attended by over 160 agency representatives. The event was followed by a workshop last month to help participants review and implement their anti-sexual harassment policies.
