EOC holds Racially Friendly Campus Recognition Ceremony to acknowledge schools promoting racial inclusion

On 7 July 2023, the EOC held a ceremony to recognise the 60 schools that participated in the Racially Friendly Campus Recognition Scheme launched in March 2023. The Scheme, in commemoration of International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, invited schools to roll out a variety of activities and initiatives that promote racial equality and inclusion on their campuses.

The EOC’s “Territory-wide Representative Survey on Sexual Harassment in Hong Kong 2021” was published in Human Rights Education in Asia Pacific (Volume 12), a leading Japanese human rights journal produced by Asia-Pacific Human Rights Information Center (HURIGHTS Osaka), which serves as an information hub of international human rights standards and practices.

EOC launches MTR advertising campaign to promote racial equality in tenancy

The EOC launched an MTR cabin advertising campaign under the tagline “Open Your Doors to Tenants of All Ethnicities” on 6 July 2023 to promote racial equality in tenancy. This is a continuation of the campaign which ran on 50 buses last December. The campaign includes displays of two posters in three trains running on the Kwun Tong, Island and Tsuen Wan Lines respectively for 12 weeks.

Social Welfare Department’s latest batch of Arts Development Fund for Persons with Disabilities opens for applications

The fifth batch of the Arts Development Fund for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) under the Social Welfare Department (SWD) is open for applications from eligible organisations until 18 August 2023 (Friday). Non-profit organisations, upon fulfilling certain requirements and having at least two years of experience in organising structured arts activities or training programmes for persons with disabilities may submit applications.
