2023-24 Community Participation Funding Programme on Equal Opportunities opens for application

The EOC’s 2023-24 Community Participation Funding Programme on Equal Opportunities (Funding Programme) is now open for application until 19 September 2023.

Launched in 1997, the Funding Programme aims to encourage non-profit organisations, charities, schools and others to implement educational activities that promote public understanding of the four anti-discrimination ordinances – the Sex Discrimination Ordinance, the Disability Discrimination Ordinance, the Family Status Discrimination Ordinance and the Race Discrimination Ordinance – under the purview of the EOC and promote the values of diversity, equality and inclusion.

For the year 2023-24, the Funding Programme consists of two categories: “General Projects” and “Thematic Projects”. The maximum funding for each project is set at $100,000 and $150,000 respectively. Projects that cover the four anti-discrimination ordinances are eligible to apply for funding under the “General Projects” category. As for the “Thematic Projects” category, it is open to projects that focus on one of the four specific themes: preventing sexual harassment in the workplace, promoting accessibility and universal design, creating family- and breastfeeding-friendly workplaces, and fostering racial inclusion.

To provide interested organisations with a better understanding of the application process and funding requirements, the EOC will conduct two briefing sessions at the EOC office in Wong Chuk Hang. The first session, scheduled for 17 August 2023, will be conducted in English, while the second session on 22 August will be conducted in Cantonese. Enrolment for both sessions is currently open. Please visit the EOC’s website for further information.
